Summary

On January 1, 2022, the Joe Coleman Medical Release Act created a new pathway for terminally ill and medically incapacitated incarcerated people to seek early release from prison. To date, more than 60 people have been released through the Joe Coleman Act, but there are hundreds more who qualify and are still waiting behind bars due to lack of representation. Come learn about this new field of law from practitioners and learn how to successfully litigate medical releases cases for your own clients.
