Five Traditions to Keep your Family Connected

In this era of quickly fading family time, it might seem impossible to keep your family connected in-between work, children’s sports and the ultimate cheese pizza, but perhaps these are the same places a great family tradition starts. Instead of trying to come up with something new and original, add a twist or two to what you’re already doing and keep your memories growing.

  1. Have a monthly luncheon during your lunch hour. If you don’t want to meet at your place of business, choose a restaurant near it where everyone can meet and talk.
  2. Get involved in your son’s or daughter’s new favorite sport by attending as many of their events as possible. At the end of the season, give them a gift of appreciation and love that they will remember.
  3. Instead of buying a pizza, make your pizza as a family using the latest and greatest recipe from grandma. Make this a monthly tradition.
  4. Invite the neighbors over for a barbecue. You’re eating anyway and the event gives you an opportunity to get to know others and to try some of their favorite foods–an added bonus.
  5. Give your son or daughter some listening time. Even if you only have five minutes over breakfast, this time will mean more than anything you can ever buy.

Starting a new tradition can be easy, especially when you incorporate what you’re already doing for a more family connected life. Look over the ideas here, they might just spring to mind a brand new tradition you’re just aching to try.
