Why Your Small Business Will Survive the Recession

Many people are suffering in this time of recession as we pray for it to turn to recovery. Perhaps the most anxious are the small business owners who have put their heart and soul and sweat into their dream. However, if trends mean anything, these people will survive the recession and make it to recovery.

The first reason that small businesses will survive can be seen with your very eyes. Look around and see how many large chains stores are closing while yours stays open. You may be doing less business than normal, but you are still surviving. The reason that they are closing and you are not is really quite simple. They have to much merchandise spread over to many locations to turn a profit. People who offered excess of what we did not need are finding that people are no longer coming to their stores. With these larger stores out of the way, people will begin to migrate to your store. We are seeing companies who offer expensive, no high-end products go down because are more cautious about where their money is being spent. For this reason, people will search out your business and you will survive.

The other reason that your business will survive while larger corporations fail is that the people are tired to seeing CEOs of large companies fly around in jets while asking for government handouts. There is a large and load outcry to fight against these companies. People are shopping local simply because they are disgusted with these large companies and what they represent.

The final reason is that you will be stronger after the recession. You will have shown that you can weather the store and that you are in for the long haul. After the recession people will be more careful with their money, wanting higher quality products and you are just the person to offer them that. Through the recession you have learned to work with your customers to meet their needs and you will continue to meet their needs as recovery happens.
